We visited the Kennedy Space Center in the summers of 2004 and 2005, spending a single day in 2004 and four days in 2005. In 2005, we took the Then & Now Tour twice and the NASA Up Close tour once. Between the two trips, there were some changes to the exhibits, both intended an unintended. They swapped out the flown MR-1 Mercury spacecraft with the unflown spacecraft 12b. Hurricane Frances blew through later in 2004, toppling the Mercury Redstone at the Pass and Identification Building and knocking the second stage off of the Delta in the rocket garden. Of course, Google Maps has detailed coverage of the Visitor Center, the VAB, the pads, and the Apollo-Saturn V Center. As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures from Kennedy, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures. |
