Redstone Tail Unit Gallery

Look straight up inside the tail unit's wall. The rusty support pole is at right.

The bulk of this photo is skin of the tail unit, with former rings providing structural support. The rectangular opening at bottom center is where one of the fins joins the tail unit.

The nearly-white circle is the opening between the center unit and the tail unit, allowing sunlight into the otherwise-dark tail unit; some of the connecting fittings are visible on this white ring, as are two of the four steel pads to which the engine mount was bolted (at the 8:00 and 5:00 positions).

Aft of the 5:00 engine mount pad is the hydrogen peroxide fill and drain valve.

Forward of the white ring is the interior of the center unit.
