F-1 Engine

Their F-1 engine is in very nice shape, and seems to have a fair amount of hardware commonly missing from other display engines.

This engine's serial number is F-114-2, which Alan Lawrie tells me is a developmental unit which was in environmental storage at the Michoud Assembly Facility during a 1990 audit.

Stafford is one of those dark museums with spot-lighting aimed at parts of artifacts. This difference in lighting makes it hard to get an even exposure, and is the bane of my existence. OK, spot lighting and artifacts encased in glass or Plexiglas (apparently, my existence is dogged by several banes :-)

There are also enough other artifacts close enough to prevent me from getting a few of the customary overall shots.
