RL-10 Engine

The USSRC has a cut-away RL-10 engine. It was displayed in the Rocket City Legacy area for some time, after which it was moved to Space Hall for the propulsion exhibit. It was later moved to the Davidson Center. This gallery contains pictures of the RL-10 when it was in Rocket City Legacy and Space Hall.

The RL-10 was used on the Centaur, the first rocket stage powered by liquid hydrogen. Six RL-10s were used on the S-IV, the Saturn I's second stage (although this is an RL-10A-1, while the S-IV used the RL-10A-3 variant).

Also see the USSRC's RL-10 thrust chamber section.

The RL-10 is still in production today; see Aerojet Rocketdyne's RL-10 page (although the former Pratt & Whitney site had more information about it).
