View of the tubes at the forward end of the nozzle cut-away portion of the RL10, just aft of the hydrogen inlet manifold.

Just aft of the hydrogen inlet manifold, where an additional 180 tubes are added to the thrust chamber wall, the tubes are formed such that they are very narrow. Contrast this with the shape of the tubes a little farther aft.
