Ground-level walk-around of the combustion chamber and LOX dome. Picture 3 of 5. F-107-1 is displayed with no injector, offering a view of aft face of the LOX dome. Vince Wheelock speculates that, as a test engine, this F-1 was torn down at some point in its life and when it was reassembled, the injector was not installed (and perhaps became a display piece on someone's wall). The 16 round, silver holes about half-way out from the center of the LOX dome are for the inner-dome attach bolts which would help attach the LOX dome to the injector. Cylindrical sleeves would be attached to these holes to protect the attach bolts. | ||||
