C-46

When one thinks of WWII cargo planes, the first plane that comes to mind is usually the C-47, AKA the Gooney Bird, Skytrain, or Dakota.

However, the C-46 was also extensively used, especially flying over the Hump in Asia. It had a larger cargo capacity and better performance at higher altitudes (but also required more maintenance) than the C-47.

The museum's C-46 is located in the same hangar as its C-47 and its cut-away C-47.
