Detail of the H-1 injector.

Picture 2 of 4.

I have no reference diagrams for the H-1 injector, but I assume that the larger, ringed orifices on the injector are fuel igniter housings, used to deliver the pyrophoric fluid (which is hypergolic with oxygen) from the hypergol cartridge to initiate combustion. This would be similar to the LR-89 (Atlas booster) engine injector and the F-1 injector.
