Apollo 10 Artifacts

One wall of the Tom Stafford History Room has a number of artifacts from Stafford's Apollo 10 mission. Some are "standard" souvenirs commonly taken by astronauts (such as the penlight and LM hand controller armrest), but I'm really curious as to how he got the stud and frangible bolt which secured the launch escape tower to the CM, as it's jettisoned at about 295,000 feet.
