Que Sera Sera Diorama

The Prologue Room features a number of dioramas along a wall featuring milestones in the company's history.

Once such diorama features Que Sera Sera, the first aircraft to land on the South Pole (on October 31, 1956).

Que Sera Sera was an R4D, the Naval version of the C-47. The R4D was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft Company, a Boeing heritage company. In the diorama, a C-124 Globemaster II, another Douglas-built plane, circles in the sky.

Que Sera Sera landed with the help of skis on its landing gear. During World War II, the Army Air Forces experimented with skis on P-51 Mustangs, although never used them operationally.
