Pegasus Micrometeoroid Satellite

The museum displayed mockup of a Pegasus micrometeoroid satellite. Three such satellites were launched, on the SA-9, SA-8, and SA-10 Saturn I missions, to study the effects of micrometeoroids in low Earth orbit.

See my page with additional information on the Pegasus.

I'm not certain whether this is a full-sized or scale-model mockup; it seems nearly as tall as an F-1, so it's pretty close to full-size.

The Pegasus is currently in storage at the Air Zoo.

See my Michigan Space & Science Center aerial photos for aerial coverage when it was still at the MSSC.
