Pegasus Micrometeoroid Satellite

The Air Zoo inherited a mockup of a Pegasus micrometeoroid satellite from the Michigan Space and Science Center when the latter closed.

Three Pegasus satellites were launched, on the SA-9, SA-8, and SA-10 Saturn I missions, to study the effects of micrometeoroids in low Earth orbit. See my info page for additional information on the Pegasus.

For a time, including the first time I visited the Pegasus, it was stored in the North Campus/Restoration Center, wedged between other items in storage, preventing overall photos. It was later moved to the East Campus building, although still in storage.

I'm not certain whether this is a full-sized or scale-model mockup.
