View of the upper portion of the suit.

The suit is paired with EVA gloves.

As McDivitt was not scheduled for an EVA (only Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart was scheduled to perform an EVA on Apollo 9), I don't know if he was actually issued a pair of EVA gloves (although he may well have been, in the case of an emergency LM to CM extravehicular transfer.

For phases of the mission which required the astronauts to be suited up but were not extravehicular activities, the astronauts wore the less-bulky intravehicular gloves.

Note the pressure gauge on the suit's right wrist, just up the arm from the glove's gauntlet. The item on the corresponding spot on the suit's left wrist is the pressure relief valve.

The snap-on cover in the crotch area is the suit's zipper cover. The A7L suit's entrance zipper began at the back of the suit's neck disconnect, ran down the back of the suit, and ended at the lower crotch.
