The suit had an integral boot. The boot had a metal clip on
the heel which engaged with the couch's foot pan
which helped prevent the astronaut's feet moving around during the vibration
associated with launch. The commander and Lunar Module pilot's boots also had
a Velcro pad which engaged with corresponding strips on the Lunar Module floor
which helped anchor them when manning the LM in zero-G.
During a lunar EVA, the astronaut would wear a lunar
overboot.
