S-IC

The S-IC stage appeared to be in really good shape; I'm assuming that some sort of restoration had been performed on it recently. The paint was fresh-looking and the detailing was impeccable.

I have a nice reference diagram for the S-IC; NASA Images has a similar diagram. I also have an interesting time-lapse photo of an S-IC stage's assembly and a proposal to modify the Saturn V S-IC stage into an "S-ID stage," which would be stage-and-a-half to orbit booster somewhat reminiscent of an Atlas.
