View of the folds of extra fabric and the snap fasteners at the top front of
the boot.
To don the boot, the astronaut would open the retaining
strap at the top of the boot's front, undo the two
snap fasteners to allow the upper part of the boot to be unfolded, insert
the pressure
garment assembly boot (using the donning
strap, as required), gather the excess material and close the snap
fasteners, and then fasten the retaining strap and adjust and latch the strap
assembly.
Note the donning strap tucked into the boot at the rear.
