Detail of one of the wiring bundles in the electrical connector bracket. The wiring bundles bear various identifying wraps; the most informative (to me at least) is the wrap which contains the missile's serial number. Here we see that the serial number is "CC-2031" (the "CC" referring to "Chrysler Corporation", whose missile division manufactured Redstone missiles; the Redstone Arsenal also manufactured Redstones, using the prefix "RS"). It seems odd that the center unit and tail unit both seem to be from CC-2007, but the aft unit is from CC-2031. Apparently, after the missile system was decommissioned, there was little effort made to keep components from individual missiles together as a unit. The Kansas Cosmosphere has a combined aft unit and warhead section; the warhead section is from CC-2013, while the aft unit is from CC-2025. | ||||
