The museum's B-47 Stratojet 53-2276 (tail number 32276) was the last operational USAF B-47 in service.
A retired airman tells me that this B-47 has been displayed at this spot since at least the late 1970s, when he was an instructor in the nearby museum building (visible in the background of some photos) which at the time housed classrooms and mobile trainer sets. At the time, the B-47 was the only only plane on display.
