It appears that the engine was not removed from the stage in an orderly fashion, as the top half of the engine's LOX and LH₂ ducts were still attached to the stage's feed lines.

This photo dates to late 2005. Also note the cylindrical hydraulic system accumulator-reservoir (diagonal at top, left of center) and the main hydraulic pump immediately below it.. Prior to Barack Obama cancelling the Constellation Program, MSFC engineers removed some components from this S-IVB stage for study. All of the components mentioned here appear to have been among those removed, as my next photos (from 2006) show that these components had been removed.
