Overall view of the camera capsule exhibit.

The capsule has been disassembled, showing the lens compartment and camera/control unit (the camera has been partially removed from the control unit). The most of the capsule's recovery compartment was jettisoned during operation, but its paraballoon is present at upper right.

On Camera

For safety's sake, MSFC had to assess how each Saturn performed. Onboard sensors provided many clues. Still, the Saturn engineers wanted to know more. To get a better look, MSFC developed ejectable cameras to film stage separation, activity in the propellant tanks and other events.
