For display purposes, the Mercury-Redstone is fitted with the bottom portion of an A-7 rocket engine, little more than the fuel inlet manifold. Of course, the support post occupies most of the space formerly occupied by the engine, but several inches of the engine are installed.

Note the double-walled construction of the thrust chamber.
