Here the closure is flat on the ground.

The outer ring of the closure is a rigid plastic, while the center is a flexible, faux-leather type material.

Note the reinforcing doublers around the periphery of the closure; there's a bolt hole between each doubler. Most of the doublers are labelled "009", although doublers on either side of each of the fold lines are labelled differently: The doubler clockwise of the fold line is labelled "007" while the one counter-clockwise is labelled "005".
