Gemini Astronaut Maneuvering Unit

The Air Force wanted NASA to test an Astronaut Maneuvering Unit during Project Gemini, in preparation for use by Air Force personnel during the eventual "Blue Gemini" missions. Additional information on the AMU preparation for Gemini can be found in On The Shoulders of Titans: A History of Project Gemini. The AMU flew on Gemini 9, but was not used due to the problems Gene Cernan had preparing to donn the backpack.

The Air Force Museum also has a Gemini AMU.

As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the Gemini AMU, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures.
