Detail of the egress platform, more commonly referred to as the "porch." The astronauts would get on their hands and knees and back out of the hatch (eventually wriggling backwards on their bellies), stopping on the porch.

Also note the SLA-LM interface (the "knee" of the lunar module's leg) and the top of the ladder.
