Overall walk-around of the LR-101 thrust chamber. Picture 3 of 6. The longer tube facing the camera is the fuel inlet. The vertical tube at right leading aft from the fuel inlet carries fuel to the fuel manifold on the engine's exit plane. The thrust chamber is double-walled, and the fuel travels between the two walls of the thrust chamber to the injector at the forward end, providing regenerative cooling to the engine to prevent the inner wall from melting. | ||||
