I always assumed that the silver metal fairing was some sort of pressure relief valve, but while researching and referring to a diagram I found that it's actually a urine transfer connector (UTC), a quick-disconnect used to drain urine from the urine collection transfer assembly (aka "UCTA", which is a bladder worn inside the suit) to the LM or CM waste management system. This allows dumping urine without depressurizing the suit (e.g., should there be some sort of emergency).
