| Detail of some sort of structure on the trailing edge of the fin; I really don't know their purpose and neither of the two surviving Saturn IBs which I've seen had these on their fins, nor did I see these structures on any vintage Saturn IB photos. I know that some flying warbirds mount tassels on the trailing edge of their wings (generally toward the wingtip) to dissipate static electricity, but I don't know if this was the intended purpose. | ||||
