Exhaust gases from the turbine, after entering the tail section flow through these escape holes in the propeller sleeves before being discharged through the center of the after propeller.

The outer propeller sleeve is for the a forward propeller. Visible through the escape holes in the forward propeller sleeve is the after propeller sleeve, which itself has escape holes.
