I turned it upside down for this shot, which is looking toward the front of the collar.

Note the cable; one edit is exposed at left and at right we see it threaded through some loops. It appears that the end of the cable at right has been broken off.

It appears that there may be another cable, completely covered in Betacloth, above the partially-exposed cable.
