Apollo Command Module Model

The exhibit includes a 1/3 scale Apollo command module model. While the exterior's detail is adequate, the interior's detail is quite remarkable: The astronauts' suits are faithful reproductions (although it appears that all three are wearing A7L EVA suits; the command module pilot should be wearing an A7L CMP suit). The labels on each switch and circuit breaker on the main display (control panel) are all readable.

Well, almost all of the switch labels are readable: Several years ago, someone decided to make the model look more "high tech" by drilling holes in the panels to install red and green LED lights. It's really a shame, as these LEDs make it look cheesy, and of course the original control panel has been drilled out.
