Wasp Major R-4360 Engine

The museum has a Pratt & Whitney R-4360 "Wasp Major" engine. With four rows of seven cylinders developing 3,500 horespower, this was the largest piston aircraft engine to be mass-produced in the United States.

This engine was used on some of the largest military aircraft, including the C-97 Stratofreighter, KC-97 Stratotanker, B-50 Superfortress, and B-36 Peacemaker, as well as the original Pregnant Guppy.

The engine also displays a cutaway R-4360.
