Conrad Gemini 5 Patch

The Gemini 5 crew was the first to have a mission patch. This was to be the first long-duration mission, so the crew designed the patch with an "8 days or bust" slogan. NASA brass objected to this, concerned about public relations should the mission last less than 8 days. A compromise was reached whereby the crew covered the slogan with a piece of cloth. After the mission was completed, they removed the cloth to expose the slogan.
