Lovell's Apollo 13 LEVA

Jim Lovell's Apollo 13 Lunar Extravehicular Visor Assembly, or LEVA, is currently on display at Adler Planetarium. This visor assembly fit over the standard pressure helmet assembly and was used to protect the astronaut from the sun's otherwise-unfiltered rays.

Lovell had formerly loaned a number of artifacts, including this LEVA, to the Museum of Science and Industry. He recalled a number of items, transferring them Adler when it received Gemini 12. I also have pictures of the LEVA when it was on display at the Musuem of Science & Industry.
