SR-71 Interior

Several years ago, the museum had a special event where they stayed open late and offered "cockpit look-ins" where the cockpits of selected plans were open and movable stairs provided to allow visitors to peer into the aircraft interior. The SR-71 was one such aircraft.

Of course, the SR-71's cockpit is normally open, so it was just a matter of taking down part of the rail near the cockpit and providing the platform to allow access.

As one might expect, the lines were long and museum staff strictly limited the amount of time each visitor was allowed at the front of the line. These photos are the results of two passes through the line.
