dsc63657.jpg

Overall view of the cutaway V-2 engine combustion chamber.

Picture 3 of 4.

While most rocket engine diagrams and labelling from the 1950s and 1960s settled on the use of red to indicate the flow of fuel and green to show oxidizer, this V-2 cutaway seems to use blue to indicate fuel and red for oxidizer (and combustion products).

At right can be seen part of a film cooling pipe, feeding the four film-cooling manifolds, each indicated by a blue stub pipe perpendicular to the film cooling pipe.
