On October 14, 2012, Felix Baumgartner ascended via balloon in a capsule to
130,000 feet (about 23 1/3 miles) and jumped from the capsule. In doing so, he
broke records for the highest manned balloon flight and the highest altitude
jump and became the first person to break the sound barrier without powered
    assistance.

The capsule and suit used for the jump toured the country, including a stop at
the USSRC. I happened to visit the USSRC archives, located on the
second floor of the museum and overlooking the exhibit, so I was lucky enough
to get a few photos from an uncommon vantage point.
