This is an early engine, which had internally
tied high pressure ducts which were straight and incorporated
bellows which were covered by silver bellows
The heat exchanger and turbine exhaust manifold are an odd patina color which
I've not seen on any other F-1s. Since the museum's outdoors F-1 does not feature this
color and the engine currently has a more natural color, I can't help
but wonder whether they were purposely painted this color.
