Views of one of the air rudder torsion bars.

One end of the torsion bar is attached to a sprocket and the other end terminates at an air rudder mounting plate, which attaches to an air rudder. The sprocket's chain penetrates the missile's end frame and engages another sprocket attached to an actuator motor. This actuator motor drives both the jet vane and air rudder to control the missile's attitude.
