Instrument Unit (Davidson Center)

The USSRC displays an instrument unit in the Davidson Center.

This IU was formerly displayed in Space Hall and appears to be one of the museum's original exhibits, as it appears in the earliest souvenir booklets that I've seen.

The IU was designed by Marshall Space Flight Center but manufactured by IBM in a facility in Huntsville. IBM veteran Luke Talley, who volunteers at the museum via the Emeritus Docents program, tells me that this particular IU is comprised of left-overs from the breadboard facility at Marshall.

As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the Instrument Unit, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures.
