Jim Halsell went on to be a NASA astronaut, flying five missions on the Space Shuttle. After leaving NASA, he became a vice president at ATK Systems, where he works in the space exploration division. He was a speaker at the Fourth Annual (2007) Saturn/Apollo Reunion at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
