SR-71 |
Inside the atrium of the Strategic Air & Space Museum is an SR-71 Blackbird (SN 61-7964), suspended on pillars, flying right toward the ticket desk. It's a sight to behold! When we walked into the lobby, I said to my wife, "It isn't every day that you come nose to nose with an SR-71." The next day of our trip took us to the Kansas Cosmosphere, which has an SR-71 displayed in a nearly-identical fashion. When we walked into that lobby, I said to my wife, "I guess it is every day that you come nose to nose with an SR-71." (However, then-CEO Chris Orwoll assured me that the Cosmosphere had their Blackbird first.) As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of the SR-71, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures. |
