F-4

An F-4 Phantom II serves as gate guardian at the intersection of Route 66 and the airport access road. The museum's F-104 Starfighter previously served in this capacity, but Google Earth suggests that the F-4 replaced the F-104 sometime between August 2012 and December 2013.

The plane's tail number is 63-426, although I was unable to locate any additional information about this particular aircraft.

The museum passed along a publicity shot of this plane lit up at night.

Aerial view (this page was last edited in December 2025, and the mapping provider has not updated their aerial imagery and still shows the F-104 Starfighter which had previously been installed here).
