The airport access road on which the museum is located is on historic Route 66. A museum staffer told me that they receive a number of visitors every year, many of them from foreign countries, who are in the area because they are travelling "from Chicago to L.A. (more than 2,000 miles all the way)."

Since signs like this were posted on nearly every telephone pole, I assume that they're not official highway signs, but they mark the route leading to the museum nonetheless.
