The sign accompanying the model. It reads

Boeing/Lockheed Martin

X-33 VentureStar

Unmanned, sub-scale test plane designed to demonstrate manned single-stage-to-orbit, reusable flight geared for commercial suborbital launches.

1996-2001
First Flight: None
Number Built: None
Actual Size of Proposed Plane: 77 ft Wingspan, 69 ft Length
(1/50 Scale)

The VentureStar was actually to be the full-scale spaceplane, with the X-33 to be the subscale demonstrator project. The X-33 would have used two XRS-2200 linear aerospike engines while the VentureStar would have used seven full-sized RS-2000 engines.

I have additional information on the X-33 on my XRS-220/RS-2200 Linear Aerospike Engine Data Sheets page.
