The mockup's hand controller. Picture 1 of 2. The hand controller was used to control the LRV's direction of travel. Tilting forward would go forward and tilting backwards would go in reverse (with increased deflection in either direction increasing the speed). Steering was accomplished by tilting the hand controller left or right. It also featured a reverse inhibit switch. We see hear that the brown arm rest, designed to support the astronaut's arm during the sometimes-lengthy lunar traverses, is flipped up against the hand controller. | ||||
