It reads


Neil Armstrong: All-American Boy

While most boys of 16 were riding bicycles to get places, Armstrong left his bicycle behind and took to flying.

Armstrong learned to fly in this Aeronca 7AC Champion in 1946. He took lessons at an Auglaize Count flying field near Wapakoneta.


The plane's registration number appears to be "NC-83" (although any characters which may follow the "3" are blocked by another exhibit).
