Mattingly's Apollo 13 Suit

The museum displayed Ken Mattingly's integrated thermal and micrometeoroid garment (ITMG) along with a blue pressure garment assembly (PGA). As the ITMG is an A7L Command Module Pilot (CMP) suit, I assume this is from Apollo 13, where Mattingly served in that capacity (until he was exposed to German measles and was bumped from the flight).

Recall that earlier revisions of the Apollo suit had separate PGAs and TMGs; the TMGs were worn over the PGA like a lunar parka. The A7L suit "integrated" the TMG and PGA, as the ITMG was not intended to be removed. However, the two garments could be separated (as was done here and for the Apollo suit display at the Franklin Institute).

That being said, the PGA appears to have a full set of six chest connectors (the extra three connectors were used on lunar surface suits, as the astronauts were for a time hooked up to both the PLSS and the LM's life support system), whereas the ITMG has only the three expected on a CMP suit.
