Detail of turbine exhaust duct.

This duct vented the turbine exhaust from the inboard engines' gas generator; the exhaust is the black smoke seen at the periphery of the launch pedestal in MSFC-6123821 (the pad has duct extensions to carry the exhaust away from the launcher accessories on the pad).
