Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) |
When I first visited Propulsion Park in July 2012, it consisted of F-1 rocket engine F-4023, a NERVA, and a linear aerospike engine. MSFC received an empty, joined four-segment Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster (similar to the SRB at Stennis Space Center) in September 2012. I had previously photographed a number of SRB parts behind 4205, so I assumed that those parts had been staged there in order to create the SRB display. I later learned that a complete SRB aft skirt was shipped to MSFC in October 2012, and in November the completed SRB was installed next to the linear aerospike and the F-1. YouTube video of the SRB being installed. As of now, I have not yet sorted through all of my pictures of Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster, but some other page references this location. Thus, this is a "place holder" version right now, with only the pictures actually referenced. Come back some time later to see if I've finished up, or drop me an email to request me to prioritize the rest of these pictures. |
