Overall walk-around of nozzle extension handling fixture.

Note the ID plate located at the 7:00 position.

There are 8 black pads around the periphery of the handling fixture which actually support the nozzle extension; these would leave darker rectangular areas in the nozzle extension (e.g., in three of the walk-around photos of F-114-2 at Stafford Air & Space, three of the walk-around photos of F-6049 when it was displayed at the Udvar-Hazy Center, and several photos of F-4023 being erected at Marshall.

The arms radiating from the top point of the fixture are nozzle flange struts which attach to the top of the nozzle extension to help hold the nozzle extension in place.
